ISSUE

Content

The Touch Screen Display (TSD) also known as Front Control Display Interface Module (FCDIM) or High Level Display Front (HLDF) on occasions may fail to download software correctly resulting in no communications with the module and blank screen.

CAUSE

This may be as a result of low battery voltage or a break in continuity of diagnostic connection during the download.

ACTION

Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) now contains a service application from DVD134 P2 onwards that can be used to recover the (TSD) where a download has previously failed and the module irrecoverable.

The diagnostic path for this application is:

'Electrical/Information and Entertainment System/Touch Screen Display/Display and Operative'.

To fully recover the FCDIM is a 2 stage process:

Stage 1 - Carry out the 'FCDIM recovery' process (details provided on SDD screen) on successful completion continue to stage 2.

Stage 2 - Carry out FCDIM 'Reconfigure existing module'.

NOTE: On completion of stage 1 the FCDIM screen will appear blank until successful completion of stage 2.

If the application does not recover the FCDIM this component is now on FRED (for the UK only) so please contact them for advice on how to proceed.

For all other markets please contact DTS if you require further support.
