ISSUE

Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) is displaying various messages suggesting that the software is out of date.

NOTE: Recommendations tab after DTC read will be missing if reduced functionality implementation has occurred.

The above concerns can be displayed when SDD is used in its normal operation with 10MY onwards vehicles or when SDD switches to its Legacy SDD operation for pre 10MY vehicles.

CAUSE

An internal SDD update mechanism has activated requesting an update, even though there are no SDD software updates available.

ACTION

Complete the below instructions to reset the SDD 164 mechanism.

  1. Navigate to TOPIx Links page.
    • https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topix/ui/mylinks
  2. Select 'SDD Manual Software Download' 
  3. Download 'SDD_164.00.001_FULL.exe 'to the machine desktop and allow it to complete.
  4. Select 'SDD_164.00.001_FULL.exe' from the machine desktop.
  5. Select 'Repair' option when prompted.
  6. Complete the Onscreen instructions.
  7. NOTE: Once the repair install has completed, the machine will shut down and restart
  8. After restart, Login to SDD and confirm update icon and messages are no longer present.

If the above instructions fail to correct the concern, a Diagnostic Report should be submitted using the SSM number as a reference.
