Traction Control System: Description

Lexus Traction Control System (TRAC) controls engine torque and braking of the driving wheels. TRAC is available as an option on rear wheel drive vehicles. TRAC consists of actuators, accumulator, pump, speed sensors, integrated TRAC/ABS ECU, relays, solenoids, motor relay, on/off switch, light indicator and warning switch.

Integrated with the ABS system, TRAC helps avoid slippage of driving wheels during acceleration. System maintains optimal driving control during changing road surface conditions upon acceleration. System eliminates need for acceleration pedal operation and improves vehicle stability when starting, accelerating or turning on slippery roads. See Fig 1.
