ECM Removal
- DISCONNECT NEGATIVE TERMINAL CABLE FROM BATTERYWARNING: Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the "LOCK" position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER
- (a) Pry the under cover, and disconnect it from the instrument panel. (b) Disconnect the step light from the under cover.
- REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT
- (a) Disconnect the wiring harness connector (for the airbag) from the glove compartment. (b) Remove the 2 compartment panels from the compartment door. (c) Disconnect the 2 check arms from the compartment door. (d) Remove the left check arm. (e) Remove the 5 clips. (f) Insert a gasket scraper between the instrumentpanel sefety pad and compartment, and pull the compartment, and disconnect it from the instrument panel. (g) Disconnect the compartment light connector, and remove the compartment.
- REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD
- (a) Remove the 5 bolts, and disconnect the lower instrument panel pad from the instrument panel. (b) Disconnect the 4 connectors from the ECM.
- REMOVE ECM
- Remove the 3 nuts and ECM.
