Transmitter Battery Test
NOTE:
If it is difficult or impossible to operate the system, use this procedure to indirectly test for a weak transmitter battery.
- Remove screw, cover, "O" ring and battery from ignition key. Connect 2 new 1.5-volt dry-cell batteries in series. See Fig 1. Connect positive lead to side terminal and negative lead to bottom terminal.
- Push transmitter button. If door locks operate, replace transmitter battery. If door locks do not operate, replace transmitter and ROM (ROM is inside of remote door lock ECU). To prevent reuse, destroy old transmitter and ROM.
