Description & Operation
Keyless entry system allows the doors to be locked and unlocked by the use of low-power electrical waves emitted from a hand held transmitter. Pushing the unlock button once will turn off the theft deterrent system and unlock driver's door. Pushing the transmitter button again within 3 seconds will unlock the other doors. If doors are not opened within 30 seconds, all the doors will automatically relock.
When the ignition key is in the ignition key cylinder, the wireless door lock control ECU will prevent the doors and luggage compartment from opening. If after wireless door lock or unlock operation the door lock condition does not change, the ECU waits 2 seconds and then sends current 3 times to the door lock motor. If the door lock condition still has not changed, the wireless door lock ECU stops signal reception and stops door lock and unlock function.
The theft deterrent and door lock control ECU is protected by a DOME fuse (7.5-amp) located in the engine compartment junction block.
