Abs/TRAC/VSC Actuator Check

CAUTION: When testing ABS/TRAC/VSC actuator, do not keep ABS motor relay or ABS/TRAC/VSC actuator solenoids on for more than 5 seconds. When operating continuously, set interval of more than 20 seconds using scan tool.
  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector No. 3 (DLC3). DLC3 is located under left side of instrument panel. Start engine and allow it to idle. Using Lexus scan tool, select ACTIVE TEST mode. Follow screen prompts on scan tool. With ABS motor relay on, actuator motor noise should be heard. Turn motor relay off.
  2. Depress brake pedal and hold pedal down for 15 seconds. Brake pedal should be firm and should not depress any further. Turn ABS motor relay on. Brake pedal should not pulsate. Turn ABS motor relay off and release brake pedal. Depress brake pedal. Using scan tool, turn SFRH and SFRR solenoid (for right front wheel) on simultaneously and check that brake pedal cannot be depressed. Do not keep solenoids on for more than 10 seconds.
  3. Using scan tool, turn SFRH and SFRR solenoid (for right front wheel) off simultaneously and check that brake pedal returns. Turn ABS motor relay off and release brake pedal. Repeat test for remaining solenoids; SFLH, SFLR (left front wheel), SRRH, SRRR (right rear wheel), SRLH and SRLR (left rear wheel).
  4. If ABS/TRAC/VSC actuator functions as specified, test is complete. Clear any DTCs that may have set. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. If ABS/TRAC/VSC actuator does not function as specified, check hydraulic system for leaks. Repair as necessary.
