Section 351 (Engine Control System): ECM: Replacement

  1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER 
    NOTE:
    • Wipe water off on the ECM cover and the circumference. 
    • Operation should be done indoors where it has no rain. 
    • Do not put any water into the inside of the engine control computer (connector part, screw part, etc). 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and ECM cover.
  2. REMOVE ECM 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts.
    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the ECM.
  3. INSTALL ECM 
    NOTE:
    • "Operation when exchanging ECM" is necessary when the ECM is replaced. 
    • Check that there is no trash and foreign objects stuck in the ECM box side (adhesive side). 
    1. Connect the connector and install the ECM with 2 nuts.

      Torque: 5.5 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf) 

  4. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER 
    1. Install the ECM cover with the 3 bolts.
