Inspection Procedure

  1. Check that the open door warning light comes on when each door is opened and goes off when all the doors are closed. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, check the open door warning light circuit. See INSTRUMENT PANEL article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
  2. Remove the wireless door lock ECU from the No. 1 instrument panel brace behind the lower No. 1 panel. See INSTRUMENT PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in INSTRUMENT PANEL article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. Measure the voltage between terminal No. 14 (CTY) of the wireless door lock ECU connector and body ground, when all doors are closed. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . If the voltage is between 10-14 volts, proceed to the next circuit inspection of the problem symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEX  table. If the voltage is not as specified, check and repair the faulty harness and connector between the wireless door lock ECU and door courtesy switch.
