Camshaft Position Sensor: Removal
- DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
- REMOVE OIL DIPSTICK AND GUIDE FOR ENGINE (See REMOVAL ))
- REMOVE OIL DIPSTICK AND GUIDE FOR A/T (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE AIR INTAKE CHAMBER (See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES )
- REMOVE VACUUM CONTROL VALVE SET AND NO. 2 VACUUM PIPE (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE NO. 3 TIMING BELT COVER
- DISCONNECT HOSES AND ENGINE WIRE
- Disconnect the air assist hose from the intake manifold.
- Disconnect the water bypass hose (from the water outlet) from the throttle body.
- Disconnect the 2 ground terminals from the intake manifold.
HINT:
At time of the installation, tighten so that each calking part should inside.
- Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
- Disconnect the 6 injector connectors.
- Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector.
- Disconnect the knock sensor 2 connector.
- Disconnect the starter connector.
- Disconnect the engine wire clamp from the clamp bracket on the intake manifold.
- Remove the 3 nuts, and disconnect the engine wire protector from the intake manifold.
- REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER (See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES )
- REMOVE PS PUMP REAR STAY
- Torque: 39.2 N.m (400 kgf.cm, 29 ft.lbf)
- REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
Remove the 2 bolts and sensor.
- Torque: 9.0 N.m (90 kgf.cm, 80 in..lbf)
