Power Window Control System - Diagnostics: Pre-Check
- POWER WINDOW OPERATION MODE
HINT: Initial condition that the customizing function by the hand-held tester is not chosen is shown in Fig 1.
Standard:
- POWER WINDOW FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
- When an abnormality is detected in the limit switch and pulse sensor for operating the jam protection function (DTC: B1231, B1232, B1233, B1234), the following power window operations will be prohibited for fail-safe.
Standard:
HINT: In case of normal limit switch, prohibition (fail-safe function) will be cancelled by fully opening the door glass of fully closed by manual operation, then AUTO operation will be possible.
- USING HAND-HELD TESTER
- Hook up the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Monitor the ECU data by following the prompts on the tester screen.
HINT: Hand-held tester has a "Snapshot" function which records the monitored data.
Refer to the hand-held tester operator's manual for further details.
- DTC CLEAR
- The DTC and freeze frame data will be erased by either action.
Operate the OBD II scan tool (complying with SAE J1978) or hand-held tester to erase the codes. (See the OBD II scan tool's instruction book for operating instructions.)
- DATA LIST
HINT: According to the DATA LIST displayed by the OBD II scan tool or hand-held tester, you can read the values of the switch, sensor, actuator and so on without parts removal. Reading the DATA LIST as a first step of troubleshooting is one of the method to shorten the labor time.
- Connect the OBD II scan tool or hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- According to the display on tester, read the "DATA LIST".
