Park/Neutral Position Switch: Removal

  1. Remove battery. See Figure.
  2. Remove air cleaner assembly.
  3. Remove air cleaner hose No. 1.
  4. Remove air cleaner bracket.
  5. Remove air cleaner inlet No. 1.
  6. Remove air intake resonator sub-assembly.
  7. Remove engine undercover No. 1.
  8. Disconnecting transaxle control cable:
    1. Remove nut from control shift lever. See Figure.
    2. Disconnect control cable from lever.
    3. Remove clip and disconnect control cable from bracket.
  9. Removing park/neutral position switch:
    1. Disconnect park/neutral position switch connector.
    2. Remove nut washer and control shaft lever.
    3. Using a screwdriver, pry off lock plate. See Figure.
    4. Remove lock nut and lock plate.
    5. Remove 2 bolts and pull out park/neutral position switch. See Figure.
