Shift Lock System: Inspection

INSPECT SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU
Using a voltmeter, measure the voltage at each terminal.

HINT:

Do not disconnect the shift lock control ECU connector.

INSPECT SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID
1. Disconnect the solenoid connector.
2. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals.
  If resistance value is not as specified, replace the solenoid.
3. Check the solenoid operating sound when connecting the battery positive terminal to 5 (SLS+) and battery negative terminal to 4 (SLS-).
  If the solenoid does not operate, replace the solenoid.

INSPECT KEY INTERLOCK SOLENOID
1. Disconnect the solenoid connector.
2. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals.
  If resistance valve is not as specified, replace the solenoid.
3. Check the solenoid operating sound when connecting the battery positive terminal to 4 (KLS+) and battery negative terminal to 3 (KLS-).
  If the solenoid does not operate, replace the solenoid.

INSPECT SHIFT LOCK CONTROL SWITCH
1. Disconnect the shift lock control switch.
2. Inspect that continuity exists between each terminal.
