Generator ASSY: Replacement

  1. SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET NO. 1 
  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER 
  4. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER NO. 1 
  5. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT 
    1. Loosen the belt tension by turning the drive belt tension counterclockwise, and remove the drive belt.

    HINT:

    The pulley bolt of the belt tensioner has a left-hand thread.

  6. DISCONNECT PS OIL COOLER PIPE 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 screws, disconnect the 2 PS oil cooler pipes from the oil pan.
  7. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the generator connector.
    2. Remove the rubber cap and nut, disconnect the generator wire.
    3. Remove the bolt and ground cable from the generator.
    4. Remove the bolt and cord clip from the generator.

    5. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts, wire bracket and generator.

  8. INSTALL GENERATOR ASSY 
    1. Install the generator and wire bracket with the bolt and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 39 N.m (400 kgf.cm, 29 ft.lbf) 

    2. Install the cord clip to the generator with the bolt.
    3. Install the ground cable to the generator with the bolt.
    4. Connect the generator wire and install the rubber cap with the nut.

      Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

    5. Connect the generator connector.
  9. CONNECT PS OIL COOLER PIPE 
    1. Connect the 2 PS oil cooler pipes to the oil pan with the 2 bolts and 2 screws.

  10. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT 
    1. Install the drive belt by turning the drive belt tension counterclockwise.

    HINT:

    The pulley bolt of the belt tensioner has a left-hand thread.

  11. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER NO.1 
  12. INSTALL V-BANK COVER 

    Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) 

  13. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET NO.1 
  14. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 
  15. POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM INITIALIZE (See  INITIALIZATION  ) 
  16. FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM INITIALIZE (See  INITIALIZATION  )
