Seat Belt Tension Reducer System: Inspection
- INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH
- Measure the resistance between the terminals of the buckle switch.
Standard:
TESTER CONDITION AND RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONSTester Condition Condition Specified Condition 5 - 6 Fasten seat belt Below 1 Ω 5 - 6 Release seat belt 1 MΩ or higher
If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assy.

- INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH
- Measure the resistance between the terminals of the buckle switch.
Standard:
TESTER CONDITION AND RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONSTester Condition Condition Specified Condition 2 - 5 Fasten seat belt 320 - 340 Ω 2 - 5 Release seat belt 1,300 - 1,360 Ω
If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assy.
- Measure the resistance between the terminals of the buckle switch.
- INSPECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSY LH NOTE: Do not apply battery voltage to the pretensioner connector.
- Check tension reducer operation.
- Connect the battery's positive lead to terminal 1 of connector A and the negative lead to terminal 2.
- Check that an operating noise is heard when the magnetized solenoid is attracting the plunger.
- Pull out the seat belt and let it rewind. Listen to the operating sound. Pull out the seat belt again and disconnect the battery's negative lead. Listen to the operating sound again and check that the operating sound volume has increased.
If the result is not as specified, replace the outer belt assy.
