Power Mirror Control System: Inspection
HINT:
On the RH side, use the same procedures as on the LH side.
- INSPECT ELECTRO CHROMIC OUTER MIRROR OPERATION
- Disconnect the outer mirror connector.
- Inspect the mirror motor operation.
- Apply battery voltage as shown in VOLTAGE TABLE .

Negative (-) - 15Upward (A) Positive (+) -15
Negative (-) - 8Downward (B) Positive (+) - 16
Negative (-) - 15Left (C) Positive (+) -15
Negative (-) - 16Right (D) If the operation is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
- Inspect the electrical retract motor operation.
- At the folded front position:
Apply battery voltage as shown in VOLTAGE TABLE .

((5) to (3) positionIf the operation is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
- At the folded front position:
- Inspect the mirror heater operation.
- Check the resistance between terminals 5 and 13 of the connector.
Resistance: 3.3 - 4.5 Ω
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 13 of the connector.
- Check that the mirror becomes warm.
HINT:
It will take a short time for the mirror to become warm.
If the operation is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
- Check the resistance between terminals 5 and 13 of the connector.
- Inspect the electrochromic outer mirror operation.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the dry cell battery (1.5 V) to terminal 7 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 15, then check that the mirror face becomes dark.
- Reconnect them to the dry cell battery in the reverse order, then check that the mirror face becomes bright.
If the operation is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
