Quarter Power Windows: Replacement

HINT:

• The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
• Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
• A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt table (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS ).

1. MOVE ROOF PANEL TO HALF 
   1. Referring to the manual operation procedures, move the roof panel to half. (See MANUAL OPERATING )

2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSY (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
3. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE COVER (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
4. REMOVE WIND DEFLECTOR BOARD ASSY (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
5. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
6. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSY (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
7. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSY (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
8. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSY RH 
   1. Using a screwdriver, remove the door scuff plate assy RH.

   HINT:

   Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

9. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSY FRONT RH 
   1. Using a screwdriver, release the 4 claws and remove the front seat outer belt garnish.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

   2. Remove the 6 screws and clips.
   3. Disengage the 4 clips, then remove the quarter trim panel RH.

10. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER END WEATHERSTRIP RH 
    1. Using a clip remover, disengage the 4 clips.
    2. Remove the center pillar upper end weatherstrip RH.

11. REMOVE QUARTER BELT MOLDING RH 
    1. Using a molding remover, remove the quarter belt molding RH.

12. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Using a clip remover, disengage the 3 clips.
    2. Remove the front part of the luggage compartment door weatherstrip.

13. REMOVE REAR SPEAKER ASSY (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
14. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RH 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the connector and grommet.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts and 4 nuts.
    4. Remove the quarter window assy RH.

15. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW STOP 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 upper front door window stops.

16. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY RH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and power window regulator motor RH.

17. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RH 
    1. As shown in Fig 11 , mark the 3 nuts position on the quarter window assy.

    2. Remove the 3 nuts and quarter window assy RH.

18. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RH 
    1. Install the glass and 3 nuts so that the nut will be placed at the marked positions.

    HINT:

    When replacing the bracket with a new one, mark the bracket position on the panel assy side.

19. INSTALL POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY RH 

    Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) 

20. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW STOP 

    Torque: 13 N.m (133 kgf.cm, 10 fl.lbf) 

21. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RH 

    Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) 

22. ADJUST QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RH (See  ADJUSTMENT  ) 
23. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSY (See  OVERHAUL  ) 

    Torque: 

    • Bolt: 18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) 
    • Nut: 18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) 
24. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSY 

    Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) 

25. INSTALL WIND DEFLECTOR BOARD ASSY 

    Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)
