Problem Symptoms Table

HINT:

If a normal system code is displayed during the DTC check but the problem still occurs, check the circuits for each problem symptom in the order given in the table below and proceed to the relevant troubleshooting page.

PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE - PRE-COLLISION SAFETY SYSTEM

Symptom Suspected Area
System operates even when there is not possibility of a collision.
  • 3. Check the installation condition of the millimeter wave radar sensor.
  • 4. The cruise control ECU assy (distance control ECU) may detect possible collision objects, and the system may activate even when the vehicle does not collide with the object.
System does not operate even when there is the possibility of a collision.
  1. Check the installation condition of the millimeter wave radar sensor.
  2. Check if the inoperative conditions of the system are met.
  3. As this system operates when the cruise control ECU assy (distance control ECU) determines that a collision is unavoidable, the system may not have any malfunction.
"PCS not Available Now" is displayed on the multi-information display.
  1. Radiator grille for millimeter wave radar sensor is not clean.
  2. Millimeter wave radar sensor can not detect possible collision objects because of bad weather.
  3. Overheating prevention function of the seat belt control ECU operates.
  • Neither the normal system code nor DTC is output.
  • System does not operate normally even when the normal system code in output and DTCs are not output.
