Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT ( ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
  3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (  2  ) 
  4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH (  3  ) 
  5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER (  6  ) 
  6. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET (  6  ) 
  7. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE (  8  ) 
  8. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the sensor connector.
    2. Remove the sensor.
    3. Remove the gasket from the sensor.
