Knock Sensor: Removal

  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE ( REMOVAL  ) 
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT ( ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
  4. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the intake manifold (ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
  5. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the 2 knock sensor connectors.
    2. Remove the 2 nuts and 2 knock sensors.
