Data List/Active Test

  1. DATA LIST

    HINT:

Using the hand-held tester, DATA LIST allows switch, sensor, actuator and other item values to be read without removing any parts. Reading DATA LIST early in troubleshooting is one way to shorten labor time.

NOTE: In Fig 1 through Fig 8 , the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.
    1. Warm up the engine.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    3. Connect the hand-held tester or the OBD II scan tool to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    5. Turn the hand-held tester ON.
    6. Enter the following menus: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DATA LIST.
    7. According to the display on the tester, perform DATA LIST.

  2. ACTIVE TEST

    HINT:

Performing ACTIVE TEST using the hand-held tester allows the relay, VSV, actuator and so on to operate without parts removal. Performing the ACTIVE TEST as first step of troubleshooting is one of the methods to shorten labor time.

It is possible to display DATA LIST during ACTIVE TEST.

    1. Warm up the engine.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    3. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    5. Turn the hand-held tester ON.
    6. Enter the following menus: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / ACTIVE TEST.
    7. According to the display on the tester, perform the ACTIVE TEST.

  3. SYSTEM CHECK

    HINT:

Performing a SYSTEM CHECK enables the system, which consists of multiple actuators, to be operated without removing any parts. In addition, it can show whether or not any DTCs are set, and can detect potential malfunctions in the system. The SYSTEM CHECK can be performed with a hand-held tester.

    1. Connect a hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the tester ON.
    4. Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / SYSTEM CHECK.
    5. Perform the SYSTEM CHECK by referring to Fig 10 .
