Power Window Control System - Diagnostics: Initialization
- HOW TO RESET POWER WINDOW MOTOR (LIMIT SWITCH) NOTE: If the jam protection function does not function properly, perform the following procedures.
HINT:
Resetting the power window regulator motor (initializing the limit switch) is necessary if: 1) the window regulator is replaced or removed/installed, or 2) the window regulator is operated without the door glass installed.
- Remove the power window motor.
HINT:
Place the matchmarks on the power window motor and window regulator gear.
- Connect the power window motor and power window switch to the wire harness of the vehicle.
- Turn the ignition switch ON. Halfway pull up the power window switch. Rotate the power window motor between 6 to 10 revolutions, or for 4 seconds or more.
- Assemble the power window motor and regulator.
HINT:
- Install the motor when the regulator arm is below the middle point.
- Align the matchmarks on the power window motor and window regulator gear.
- Assemble the power window regulator and door glass.
HINT:
Do not push down on the power window switch (rotate the motor downward) until the door glass installation has been completed.
- Connect the power window switch to the wire harness and turn the ignition switch ON.
- Repeat UP and DOWN operation several times manually.
- Check if AUTO UP/DOWN function operates normally.NOTE:
- Be careful with the power window during AUTO operation. The jam protection function does not operate just after the power window motor is initialized.
- Use the power window's AUTO UP function to fully close the window. If the power window lowers after being fully closed, initialize the power window motor again.
- Check the power window function.
- Remove the power window motor.
