Power Mirror Control System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Select "L" or "R" on the left/right adjustment switch. Measure the switch resistance.

      Standard: 

      "L" OR "R" ON LEFT/RIGHT ADJUSTMENT SWITCH

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      O3-7 - O3-9 OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      O3-7 - O3-9 UP 90 to 100 Ω
      O3-7 - O3-9 DOWN 435 to 505 Ω
      O3-7 - O3-9 LEFT 740 to 860 Ω
      O3-7 - O3-9 RIGHT 220 to 280 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

    2. Measure the left/right adjustment switch resistance.

      Standard: 

      LEFT/RIGHT ADJUSTMENT SWITCH

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      O3-8 - O3-9 L 90 to 110 Ω
      O3-8 - O3-9 R 10 Ω or less

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

    3. Measure the retract switch resistance.

      Standard: 

      RETRACT SWITCH

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      O4-4 - O4-7 (B) position Below 1 Ω
      O4-2 - O4-4 (A) position Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

    4. Measure the clearance sonar switch resistance.

    CLEARANCE SONAR SWITCH

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    3 - 4 OFF 10 kΩ or higher
    3 - 4 ON Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

  2. INSPECT SEAT MEMORY SWITCH 
    1. Measure the switch resistance.

    Standard: 

    SEAT MEMORY SWITCH - RESISTANCE TABLE

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    2 - 6 SET Switch ON Below 1 Ω
    3 - 6 M1 Switch ON Below 1 Ω
    4 - 6 M2 Switch ON Below 1 Ω
    5 - 6 M3 Switch ON Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

  3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 
    1. Disconnect the mirror connector.
    2. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror.

      OK:

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) -> Terminal R39-1 (#MVR) Battery negative (-) -> Terminal R39-10 (#M+R) Turns upward (A)
      Battery positive (+) -> Terminal R39-10 (#M+R) Battery negative (-) -> Terminal R39-1 (#MVR) Turns downward (B)
      Battery positive (+) -> Terminal R39-10 (#M+R) Battery negative (-) -> Terminal R39-9 (#MHR) Turns right (D)
      Battery positive (+) -> Terminal R39-9 (#MHR) Battery negative (-) -> Terminal R39-10 (#M+R) Turns left (C)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

    3. Apply battery voltage and check the mirror retract operation.
      NOTE:
      • Disconnect and reconnect the battery once between each mirror position check.
      • The mirror position cannot be changed manually when the battery is connected. If you wish to change the mirror position manually, disconnect the battery first before doing so.

      OK: 

      MIRROR RETRACT OPERATION TABLE

      If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

  4. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 
    1. Disconnect the mirror connector.
    2. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror.

      OK: 

      OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH - OPERATION TABLE

      Battery positive (+) -> Terminal R40-1 (#MVR) Battery negative (-) -> Terminal R40-10 (#M+R) Turns upward (A)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

    3. Apply battery voltage and check the mirror retract operation.

    If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

  5. INSPECT MIRROR POSITION SENSOR 
    1. Check the voltage.
      1. Apply voltage to the terminals with a battery and a dry cell battery, as shown in MIRROR POSITION SENSOR - OPERATION TABLE  .
      2. Measure the voltage while the mirror moves between the fully turned downward position and fully turned upward position.

        Standard: 

        MIRROR POSITION SENSOR - OPERATION TABLE

        If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

      3. Measure the voltage while the mirror moves between the fully turned to the left position and fully turned to the right position.

    Standard (right side mirror): 

    MIRROR POSITION SENSOR - RIGHT SIDE MIRROR

    If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

    Standard (left side mirror): 

    MIRROR POSITION SENSOR - LEFT SIDE MIRROR

    If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.
