Ignition Coil: Replacement

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER 
  3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE 
  4. REMOVE OIL LEVEL GAGE GUIDE 
  5. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the ignition coil connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and pull out the ignition coil.

  6. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSY 
    1. Connect a new ignition coil to the spark plug, attach the ignition coil to the cylinder head cover, and install the bolt.

      Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf) 

    2. Connect the ignition coil connector.
  7. INSTALL OIL LEVEL GAUGE GUIDE 
  8. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE 
  9. INSTALL V-BANK COVER 
  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (See  INITIALIZATION  ) 
    NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
