Throttle Body ASSY: Replacement

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag activation.

  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 
  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.
  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET NO.1 
  5. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE 
    1. Disconnect the air hose and ventilation hose No. 1.
    2. Loosen the 2 hose clamps and remove the intake air connector.
  6. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the connectors and wire.
    2. Disconnect the water by-pass hoses.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, throttle body and gasket.
  7. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSY 
    1. Install a new gasket and the throttle body with 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf 

    2. Connect the water by-pass hoses.
  8. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE 
    1. Install the connector pipe with the bolt and hose clamp.

      Torque: 

      4.0 N.m (41 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf) for hose clamp 

      5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) for bolt 

    2. Connect the air hose and the ventilation hose No.1.
  9. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET NO.1 
  10. INSTALL V-BANK COVER 
    1. Install the V-bank cover with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) 

  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  12. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (See  INITIALIZATION  ) 
    NOTE:

    Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

  13. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 
  14. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS (See  COOLING SYSTEM  )
