Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK MANUAL UP / DOWN FUNCTION 
    1. Check that the manual UP / DOWN function of each switch operates normally.

      OK: 

      Manual UP / DOWN function operates normally. 

    NG: OTHER PROBLEM 

    OK: GO TO Next Step 

  2. CHECK AUTO UP / DOWN FUNCTION 
    1. Check that the AUTO UP / DOWN function of each switch operates normally.

      OK: 

      AUTO UP / DOWN function operates normally. 

    NG: OTHER PROBLEM 

    OK: GO TO Next Step 

  3. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (WINDOW SWITCH) 
    1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the power window switch on the master switch.

      Multiplex network master switch 

      DATA LIST

      OFF: Front passenger side power window AUTO switch does not operate

      OFF: Front passenger side power window manual UP switch does not operate
      P P/W DOWN SW Front passenger side power window switch DOWN signal / ON or OFF ON: Front passenger side power window manual DOWN switch operates
      OFF: Front passenger side power window manual DOWN switch does not operate
      RL P/W AUTO SW Rear power window LH switch auto UP / DOWN signal / ON or OFF ON: Rear power window LH AUTO switch operates
      OFF: Rear power window LH AUTO switch does not operate
      RL P/W UP SW Rear power window LH switch UP signal / ON or OFF ON: Rear power window LH manual UP switch operates
      OFF: Rear power window LH manual UP switch does not operate
      RL P/W DOWN SW Rear power window LH switch DOWN signal / ON or OFF ON: Rear power window LH manual DOWN switch operates
      OFF: Rear power window LH manual DOWN switch does not operate
      RR P/W AUTO SW Rear power window RH switch auto UP / DOWN signal / ON or OFF ON: Rear power window RH AUTO switch operates
      OFF: Rear power window RH AUTO switch does not operate
      RR P/W UP SW Rear power window RH switch UP signal / ON or OFF ON: Rear power window RH manual UP switch operates
      OFF: Rear power window RH manual UP switch does not operate
      RR P/W DOWN SW Rear power window RH switch DOWN signal / ON or OFF ON: Rear power window RH manual DOWN switch operates
      OFF: Rear power window RH manual DOWN switch does not operate

      OK: 

      ON (power window regulator switch on master switch operates) appears on screen. 

    OK: REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    NG: GO TO Next Step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU - MULTIPLEX NETWORK SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the M4, O7 and O3 ECU connectors.
    2. Disconnect the Q6, S5 and S1 switch connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance: for Front passenger side 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      M4-7 (MPX3) - Q6-4 (MPX1) Below 1 Ω.
      M4-7 (MPX3) or Q6-4 (MPX1) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

      for Rear LH 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      O7-7 (MPX3) - S5-4 (MPX1) Below 1 Ω
      O7-20 (PWSL) - S5-11 (SEL2) Below 1 Ω
      O7-7 (MPX3) or S5-4 (MPX1) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      O7-20 (PWSL) or S5-11 (SEL2) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

      for Rear RH 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      O3-7 (MPX3) - S1-4 (MPX1) Below 1 Ω
      O3-20 (PWSL) - S1-10 (SEL1) Below 1 Ω
      O3-7 (MPX3) or S1-4 (MPX1) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      O3-20 (PWSL) or S1-10 (SEL1) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO Next Step 

  5. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (WINDOW LOCK SIGNAL) 
    1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the power window switch on the master switch.

      Multiplex network master switch 

      DATA LIST

      Item Measurement Item / Display (Range) Normal Condition
      P/W LOCK SW Power window LOCK switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Power window LOCK switch ON
      OFF: Power window LOCK switch OFF

    OK: REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    NG: GO TO Next Step 

  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MASTER SWITCH - SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the Q13 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q6, S5 and S1 switch connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance: for Front passenger side 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Q13-6 (PWS) - Q6-9 (PCT) Below 1 Ω
      Q13-6 (PWS) or Q6-9 (PCT) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

      for Rear LH 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Q13-6 (PWS) - S5-9 (PCT) Below 1 Ω
      Q13-6 (PWS) or S5-9 (PCT) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

      for Rear RH 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Q13-6 (PWS) - S1-9 (PCT) Below 1 Ω
      Q13-6 (PWS) or S1-9 (PCT) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
