How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

• Use these procedures to troubleshoot the meter / gauge system.
• *: Use the intelligent tester or Techstream.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

   Standard voltage: 11 to 14 V 

   If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

3. CHECK FOR DTC* 
   1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).
   2. Delete the DTCs (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).
   3. Recheck for DTCs (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ). Based on the DTCs output above, try to force output of the same CAN communication system DTC or meter / gauge system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.

   1. Refer to the PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ( ).
