On-Vehicle Inspection

CHECK INTAKE AIR CONTROL FUNCTION
1. Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Push the tester main switch ON.
4. Enter the following menus:
  1. Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / ACTIVE TEST / INTAKE CTL VSV1.
  2. Techstream - Select: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Activate the VSV for Intake Control.
5. When power is supplied, check that the actuator rod operates.
INSPECT AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT
1. Check that the air cleaners are not excessively dirty. If the air cleaners are excessively dirty, replace both of them at the same time.

2. If cleaning the air cleaner filter element, blow compressed air as shown in the illustration to clean it.
  Clean both air cleaner filters at the same time.
