Floor Shift Assembly: Installation

  1. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the floor shift assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 8.3 N*m (85 kgf*cm, 73 in.*lbf) 

    2. Install the 2 wire harness clamps to the floor shift assembly.
    3. Connect the 4 connectors.
      NOTE: Do not pinch the wire harness.

  2. CONNECT FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily connect the shifting rod to the connecting rod swivel with the nut.

      HINT:

      The nut will be tightened to a torque specification during the shift lever position adjustment procedure.

  3. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the console box assembly (see INSTALLATION ).
  4. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION 
    1. Adjust the shift lever position (see ADJUSTMENT  ).
  5. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION 
    1. Inspect the shift lever position (see REMOVAL  ).
  6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
