Skid Control Sensor: Removal
HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- REMOVE REAR WHEEL
- DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE
- Disconnect the connector from the skid control sensor.NOTE: Be careful not to damage the skid control speed sensor.
- Disconnect the connector from the skid control sensor.
- REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL ).
- REMOVE REAR DISC (See REMOVAL ).
- REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY WITH SKID CONTROL SENSOR (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE SKID CONTROL SENSOR
- Mount the rear axle hub and bearing assembly in a vise using aluminum plates.NOTE: Replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly if it is dropped or receives a strong shock.
- Using a pin punch and hammer, drive out the 2 pins and remove the 2 attachments from SST.
SST 09520-00031 (09521-00010, 09520-00040), 09521-00020
- Using SST and 2 bolts (Diameter: 12 mm, pitch: 1.5 mm), remove the skid control sensor from the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

NOTE:- Keep the skid control sensor away from magnets.
- Pull the skid control sensor off straight, taking care not to make contact with the skid control sensor rotor.
- If the skid control speed sensor rotor is damaged or deformed, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
- Do not scratch the contact surface between rear axle hub and bearing assembly and the skid control sensor.
- Do not attach foreign matter to the skid control speed sensor rotor and tip.
- Mount the rear axle hub and bearing assembly in a vise using aluminum plates.
