Skid Control Sensor: Removal

HINT:

  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 
  2. DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the skid control sensor.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the skid control speed sensor.

  3. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL ).
  4. REMOVE REAR DISC  (See REMOVAL ).
  5. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY WITH SKID CONTROL SENSOR  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE SKID CONTROL SENSOR 
    1. Mount the rear axle hub and bearing assembly in a vise using aluminum plates.
      NOTE: Replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly if it is dropped or receives a strong shock.
    2. Using a pin punch and hammer, drive out the 2 pins and remove the 2 attachments from SST.

      SST 09520-00031 (09521-00010, 09520-00040), 09521-00020 

    3. Using SST and 2 bolts (Diameter: 12 mm, pitch: 1.5 mm), remove the skid control sensor from the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

      NOTE:
      • Keep the skid control sensor away from magnets.
      • Pull the skid control sensor off straight, taking care not to make contact with the skid control sensor rotor.
      • If the skid control speed sensor rotor is damaged or deformed, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
      • Do not scratch the contact surface between rear axle hub and bearing assembly and the skid control sensor.
      • Do not attach foreign matter to the skid control speed sensor rotor and tip.
