Engine Control System - System & Component Testing, Removal, Inspection & Installation: ECM: Removal
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
- REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER CENTER BRACE (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE ECM
- Remove the 3 nuts.
- Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors and remove the ECM.
- Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the 2 levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.NOTE: After disconnecting the connector, make sure that dirt, water and other foreign matter do not contact the connecting part of the connector.
- Remove the ECM.
- Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the 2 levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.
- Remove the 4 screws and 2 ECM brackets.
