Inspection Procedure
- CHECK VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (VSV FOR AIR INTAKE CONTROL VALVE)
- Inspect the VSV for air intake control valve (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
NG: REPLACE VSV (FOR AIR INTAKE CONTROL VALVE)
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT TERMINAL VOLTAGE (VSV FOR AIR INTAKE CONTROL VALVE CONNECTOR)
- Disconnect the VSV for air intake control valve connector
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below
Standard Voltage
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 2 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V - Reconnect the VSV connector.
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (EFI NO. 2 FUSE - VSV FOR AIR INTAKE CONTROL VALVE)
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VSV FOR AIR INTAKE CONTROL VALVE - ECM)
- Disconnect the VSV for air intake control valve connector
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below
Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition A60-1 (VSV for AICV) - E3-8 (AICV) Always Below 1 Ω Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition A60-1 (VSV for AICV) or E3-8 (AICV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher - Reconnect the ECM connector
- Reconnect the VSV connector
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (VSV FOR AIR INTAKE CONTROL VALVE - ECM)
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT AIR INTAKE CONTROL VALVE
- Inspect the intake air control valve
NG: REPLACE AIR CLEANER CASE
OK: REPLACE ECM (See REMOVAL )
