Engine Control System - System & Component Testing, R & I: ECM: Installation
- INSTALL ECM
- Install the ECM to the engine room ECU box with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 4) in.*lbf)
NOTE:- Install the ECM on the ECM box with the label facing away from the engine.
- Make sure that there is no foreign matter on the gasket surface of the ECM box.
- Insert the stud bolt on the vehicle rear side to the ECM first.
- Make sure that the stud bolts are securely installed into the front and rear bolt holes.
- Connect the 6 ECM connectorsNOTE: Be sure to securely connect the connector.
- Connect the connector holder.
- Install the ECM to the engine room ECU box with the 2 nuts.
- INSTALL ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER
- Install the ECM cover with the 3 bolts
Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)
- Install the ECM cover with the 3 bolts
- INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION
- When replacing the ECM, some systems need to be initialized
- Cruise control system (See INSTALLATION )
- Engine control system (See INSTALLATION )
- When replacing the ECM, some systems need to be initialized
- PERFORM RESET MEMORY NOTE: Perform RESET MEMORY (AT initialization) when replacing the ECM (See INITIALIZATION ).
HINT
Initialization cannot be completed by only disconnecting and reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal
- PERFORM REGISTRATION NOTE: Perform Registration (VIN registration) when replacing the ECM (See REGISTRATION ).
