Transmission Control Switch: Inspection

  1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH 
    1. Disconnect the transmission control switch connector of the shift lock control unit assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Shift Position Specified Condition
      3 (IG) - 7 (S) M, "+" and "-" Below 1 Ω
      3 (IG) - 7 (S) Except M, "+" and "-" 10 kΩ or higher
      2 (SFTU) - 5 (E) Press continuously "+" (Up shift) Below 1 Ω
      2 (SFTU) - 5 (E) M 10 kΩ or higher
      1 (SFTD) - 5 (E) Press continuously "-" (Down shift) Below 1 Ω
      1 (SFTD) - 5 (E) M 10 kΩ or higher

      If the resistance value is not as specified, replace the transmission control switch
