Fuel Pressure Sensor: Installation

  1. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR 
    1. Install a new gasket to the fuel pressure sensor.
    2. Using SST, install the fuel pressure sensor to the No. 1 delivery pipe.

      SST 09922-10010 

      Torque: without SST 

      44 N*m (449 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf) 

      with SST 

      40 N*m (409 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply oil to threads of the pressure sensor and delivery pipe.
      • Do not allow foreign matter to enter the pipe during the installation.

      HINT:

      • Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 30 cm (11.81 in).

      • Make sure SST and wrench are connected in a straight line.
    3. Connect the connector.

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the engine cover to the engine.

  3. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Install the intake manifold (see INSTALLATION ).
  4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
  6. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  (See COOLANT )
  7. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
  8. CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKS  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
