System Outline

* To optimize the maneuverability of the driver, the steering gear ratio is calculated from the steering angle and vehicle speed signals, and this ratio is then used to operate the actuator.

* If the system has an abnormality, the power relay (Built into the ECU) will be shut off and the assistance will be stopped by inserting the lock bar (Built into the actuator), resulting in the warning lamp (The master warning) in the meter lighting up.

* The front wheel turning angle is also controlled according to the signals from the skid control ECU.
