Oil Level Sensor: Removal

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER  (See REPLACEMENT )
  2. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR LOWER  (See REMOVAL )
  4. DRAIN ENGINE OIL  (See REPLACEMENT  )
  5. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER TUBE 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 clamps to disconnect the No. 1 oil cooler inlet tube and No. 1 oil cooler outlet tube.

  6. REMOVE CRANK POSITION SENSOR BRACKET 
    1. Using a clip remover, disconnect the harness clamp.
    2. Remove the bolt and crank position sensor bracket.

  7. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the engine oil level sensor connector.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts.

    3. Rotate the engine oil level sensor 180° and remove it.

    4. Cut off the gasket as shown in the illustration.

    6. Remove the gasket from the oil level sensor.

      HINT:

      After cutting away the parts of the gasket shown in the illustration, remove only the outer part of the gasket.
