Rear Acceleration Sensor: Inspection

  1. INSPECT ACCELERATION SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect 3 1.5 V dry batteries in series.
    2. Connect terminal 3 (SGV) to the batteries' positive (+) terminal, and terminal 2 (SGND) to the negative (-) terminal.

    3. Measure the voltage of the sensor.

    Standard voltage 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE

    Tester Connection Sensor Condition Specified Condition
    1 (SGRR) - 2 (SGND) Sensor stationary Approx. 2.2S V
    Sensor Is tilted Change between approx. 0.9 to 2.3 V
    NOTE:
    • Do not apply a voltage of more than 6 V.
    • Do not drop the acceleration sensor. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.
    • The acceleration sensor removed from the vehicle must not be placed upside down.

    HINT:

    When the acceleration sensor is tilted, it may output a different value.
