Automatic Transaxle: TCM: Removal

  1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER  (See REMOVAL )
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 clips and air cleaner inlet cover.

  4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH 
  5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER 
    NOTE:
    • Wipe off any water on or around the engine room ECU cover.
    • Perform these procedures in a dry place away from rain, etc.
    • Do not allow water to enter the ECM through its connector areas, screw areas, etc.
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and engine room ECU cover.
  6. REMOVE TCM 
    1. Disconnect the 4 connectors.
    2. Remove the 2 nuts and TCM.
