Rear Speed Sensor: Installation

NOTE: While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/ close the doors while the battery is connected.

HINT:

  1. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR RH 
    1. Install the sensor with the bolt

      Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • The speed sensor is easily damaged. When installing the speed sensor to the axle hub, do not use excessive force to rotate and install it.
      • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
      • Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped replace the sensor with a new one.

  2. INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE 
    1. Connect the rear speed sensor connector.
    2. Install the sensor wire.
      NOTE: Do not twist the sensor wire when installing the clamps.
      1. RH.

        Connect the pad wear indicator connector (labeled A)

      2. Install the sensor clamp with the bolt.

        Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

      3. Install the 2 sensor clamps with the 2 nuts

        Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) 

      4. Connect the rear height control sensor connector

    3. Insert the connector and grommet to the inside of the vehicle through the hole in the wheel house.

    4. Connect the skid control sensor wire connector.

  3. INSTALL REAR WHEEL 

    Torque: 140 N*m (1428 kgf*cm, 103 ft.*lbf) 

  4. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL NO. 1 COOLER COVER (w/ Rear Cooler)  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. INSTALL ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  12. INSTALL ROPE HOOK  (See INSTALLATION )
  13. INSTALL SERVICE PLUG GRIP  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after tide cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
  16. INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  17. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  18. CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL 
    1. Check the speed sensor signal (see TEST MODE PROCEDURE  )
