Front Speed Sensor: Removal
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.NOTE:
- w/ Navigation System:
After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
- w/ Navigation System:
- REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
- REMOVE FRONT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE LH
- Disconnect the connector from the front speed sensor.
- Remove the bolt and harness clamp.
- Remove the nut and harness clamp.
- Remove the 2 bolts and 2 harness clamps.
- Disconnect the 2 connectors and then remove the bolt, harness clamp and sensor wire.
- REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH
- Using a 5 mm hexagon wrench, remove the bolt and speed sensor from the knuckle.
NOTE: Pull out the sensor while trying as much as possible not to rotate it. - REMOVE FRONT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE RH
- Disconnect the connector from the front speed sensor.
- Remove the bolt and harness clamp.
- Remove the nut and harness clamp.
- Disconnect the connector.
- Detach the connector from the skid control sensor clamp.
- Remove the bolt and skid control sensor clamp.
- Remove the 2 bolts and 2 harness clamps.
- Disconnect the connector and then remove the bolt, harness clamp and sensor wire.
- REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR RH
- Using a 5 mm hexagon wrench, remove the bolt and speed sensor from the knuckle.
NOTE: Pull out the sensor while trying as much as possible not to rotate it.
