Engine Control System - System Testing; Component Inspection, Removal & Installation: ECM: Removal

  1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
    NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER 
    NOTE:
    • Wipe off any water on or around the engine room ECU cover.
    • Perform these procedures in a dry place away from rain, etc.
    • Do not allow water to enter the ECM through its connectors areas, screw areas, etc.
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and engine room ECU cover.

  6. REMOVE TCM 
    1. Disconnect the 4 TCM connectors.
    2. Remove the 2 nuts and TCM.

  7. DISCONNECT NO. 2 CONNECTOR HOLDER 
    1. Disconnect the 2 engine wire connectors.
    2. Disconnect the 2 claws with the connector holder.

  8. REMOVE ECM 
    1. Disconnect the 6 ECM connectors.
    2. Remove the 2 nuts and ECM.
