Front Power Seat Control System (Initialization)

NOTE:

The position sensor initialization must be performed if one of the following occurs.

  • The front power seat switch (seat ECU) is replaced.
  • The front seat adjuster is replaced.
  • The initialization cancel operation is performed.
  • The power seat motor for the driver seat is operated when the D P/SEAT fuse or D MPX-B 1 fuse has an open circuit.
  • The power seat motor for the front passenger seat is operated when the P PSEAT 1 fuse or P MPX-B fuse has an open circuit.
  • A power seat motor inspection is performed.
  1. Perform the initialization cancel operation for driver seat

    1. Turn the power switch ON (IG).
    2. Press the front vertical switch of the power seat switch downward 3 times.*1
    3. Within 10 seconds of the above operation, begin the following operation: perform the rearward reclining operation and upward lifter operation simultaneously for 10 seconds or more (buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds).*2 This will cancel the initialization.
  2. Perform the initialization operation for driver seat

    1. Perform the initialization cancel operation.
    2. Use the slide operation to move the front power seat to the rearmost lock position.*1

      HINT: 

      • While performing the slide operation, the buzzer sounds.
      • After the slide operation initialization is complete, the headrest and cushion extender initialization occurs automatically. At this time, the headrest will move to the uppermost position, and the cushion extender will move rearward.
    3. Use the reclining operation to move the seatback to the foremost lock position (buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds).*2
    4. Operate the power seat switch and check that the head restraint moves to the lowermost position.*1

    5. Operate the power seat switch and check that the seat slides forward and rearward and that the buzzer does not sound.*2

      HINT: 

      After performing all of the procedures above, if the buzzer sounds while performing a manual operation, the initialization was not completed properly. Repeat all of the above procedures.

  3. Perform the initialization cancel operation for passenger seat

    1. Turn the power switch ON (IG).
    2. Press the front vertical switch of the power seat switch downward 3 times.*1

  4. Perform the initialization operation for passenger seat

    HINT: 

    *: for Ottoman

    1. Perform the initialization cancel operation.
    2. Use the slide operation to move the front power seat to the rearmost lock position.*1

      HINT: 

      • While performing the slide operation, the buzzer sounds.
      • After the slide operation initialization is complete, the headrest and lifter initialization occurs automatically. At this time, the headrest will move to the lowermost position, and the lifter will move either upward or downward.
    3. Use the reclining operation to move the seatback to the foremost lock position (buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds).*2
    4. Operate the power seat switch and check that the head restraint moves to the uppermost position.*1

    5. Operate the power seat switch and check that the seat slides forward and rearward and that the buzzer does not sound.*2

      HINT: 

      • After performing all of the procedures above, if the buzzer sounds while performing a manual operation, perform the rear seat initialization*.
      • After performing all of the procedures above, if the buzzer sounds while performing a manual operation, the initialization was not completed properly. Repeat all of the above procedures.
