Microphone Circuit between Microphone and Radio Receiver: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

      Result

      Model Proceed to
      w/o Manual (SOS) Switch A
      w/ Manual (SOS) Switch B

    B → See step   4 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the radio receiver assembly and map light assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F68-1 (SNS2) - P10-5 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      F68-3 (MACC) - P10-2 (ACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      F68-2 (MIN+) - P10-3 (MIC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F68-5 (MIN-) - P10-4 (MIC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      F68-1 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F68-3 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F68-2 (MIN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F68-5 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F68-6 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F68-3 (MACC) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 4 to 6 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F68-6 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F68-5 (MIN-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Proceed to the next step based on the inspection result.

      Result

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the radio receiver assembly and map light assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F68-1 (SNS2) - P10-5 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the radio receiver assembly and DCM (telematics transceiver) connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F68-2 (MIN+) - F38-18 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F68-5 (MIN-) - F38-19 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      F68-2 (MIN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F68-5 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F68-6 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the DCM (telematics transceiver) and map light assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F38-33 (MCVD) - P10-2 (ACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      F38-34 (MCI+) - P10-3 (MIC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F38-35 (MCI-) - P10-4 (MIC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      F38-33 (MCVD) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F38-34 (MCI+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F38-35 (MCI-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F38-32 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F68-6 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F68-5 (MIN-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Radio Receiver Assembly)

    NG → See step   15 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Reconnect the DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F38-33 (MCVD) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 4 to 6 V

    NG → See step   16 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P10-4 (MIC-) - P10-5 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Map Light Assembly)

    NG → See step   11 

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.
    2. Reconnect the DCM (telematics transceiver) connector (w/ Manual (SOS) Switch).
    3. Reconnect the map light assembly connector.

    4. Turn the power switch on (ACC).
    5. Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 3 (MIC+) and 4 (MIC-) of the P10 map light assembly connector.
    6. Check the waveform of the telephone microphone assembly using the oscilloscope.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      A waveform synchronized with the voice input to the map light assembly is output A
      A waveform synchronized with the voice input to the map light assembly is not output B

  11. REPLACE TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the telephone microphone assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Check if the same malfunction recurs.

  12. REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  13. REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  14. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  15. REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  16. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER). Refer to  REMOVAL
