Engine Control System (Service Information): ECM: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL ECM 
    1. Install the ECM with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)

    2. Connect the 6 ECM connectors.
  2. CONNECT NO. 2 CONNECTOR HOLDER 
    1. Attach the 2 claws to connect the connector holder.

    2. Connect the 2 engine wire connectors.
  3. INSTALL TCM 
    1. Install the TCM with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)

    2. Connect the 4 TCM connectors.
  4. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER 
    1. Install the engine room ECU cover with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)

  5. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 103
  6. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . See step  7
  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  8. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 11
  9. PERFORM RESET MEMORY 
    NOTE:

    Perform the RESET MEMORY (AT initialization) when replacing the automatic transmission assembly, engine assembly or ECM.

    HINT: 

    Initialization cannot be completed by only removing the battery.

  10. SHIFT CONTROL SYNCHRONIZATION (for Sport Package)  . Refer to REGISTRATION - Step 2
  11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
      NOTE:

      Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
