Throttle Body: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the 2 water by-pass hoses to the throttle body.
    2. Install a new gasket to the intake air surge tank.

      HINT: 

      Align the protrusion of the gasket with the groove of the intake air surge tank.

    3. Install the throttle body with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Connect the throttle position sensor and control motor connector.

    5. Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses.
  2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 10
  3. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 8
  4. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK  . Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 1
  5. CHECK THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY  See step  1
  6. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 19
  7. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 17
  8. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 18
  9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:

    Perform the following procedure after replacing the ECM, throttle body assembly or any throttle body components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body is cleaned.

    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Wait at least 60 seconds and reconnect the cable.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.
      NOTE:

      If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.

      Standard

      Condition Engine Idle Speed
      A/C switched off 650 to 750 rpm
      NOTE:
      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
      • Make sure that the shift lever is in N of P.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / All Data / Throttle Sensor Volt %. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or more.
    6. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
  10. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 72
  11. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
  12. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 4
  13. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 3
