Rear Speed Sensor: Removal: Removal
NOTE:
- While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or any door courtesy switch is turned on. Therefore, when servicing brake system components, do not depress the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.
- When the brake pedal is first depressed after replacing the brake pads or pushing back the disc brake pistons, DTC C1214 may be output. As there is no malfunction, clear the DTC.
HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.
- The following procedure is for the LH side.
- If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
- The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the rear speed sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work. Refer to PRECAUTION .
- DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
- REMOVE REAR WHEEL
- REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
- DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
- REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 12
- LOOSEN PARKING BRAKE CABLE . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 9
- REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION ARM COVER . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
- REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER PROTECTOR . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
- DISCONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
- SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 11
- REMOVE REAR DISC . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 20
- DISCONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE
- Using a screwdriver, disconnect the connector from the rear speed sensor.
NOTE:
Be careful not to damage the rear speed sensor.
- Using a screwdriver, disconnect the connector from the rear speed sensor.
- REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY
- Remove the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 15
.
HINT:
- The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the rear speed sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
- If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
