Rear Speed Sensor: Installation: Installation

NOTE:

While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

HINT: 

  1. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR RH 
    1. Install the sensor with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • The speed sensor is easily damaged. When installing the speed sensor to the axle hub, do not use excessive force to rotate and install it.
      • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
      • Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped replace the sensor with a new one.
  2. INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE 
    1. Connect the rear speed sensor connector.

    2. Connect the pad wear indicator connector.
    3. Install the sensor clamp with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not twist the sensor wire when installing the clamps.

    4. Install the 2 sensor clamps with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) 

    5. Connect the rear height control sensor connector.
    6. Insert the connector and grommet to the inside of the vehicle through the hole in the wheel house.

    7. for RH:
      1. Connect the skid control sensor wire connector to the vehicle side connector.

    8. for LH:
      1. Connect the skid control sensor wire connector to the vehicle side connector.

  3. INSTALL REAR WHEEL  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 35
  4. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 4
  5. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 5
  6. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 6
  7. INSTALL TOOL BOX (w/o Spare Tire)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 3
  8. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire) 
  9. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 16
  10. INSTALL FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 9
  11. INSTALL NO. 1 COOLER COVER (w/ Air Conditioning System)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 17
  12. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 11
  13. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 12
  14. INSTALL ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 13
  15. INSTALL ROPE HOOK  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 14
  16. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  17. INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 15
  18. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 17
  19. CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL 
    1. Check the speed sensor signal. Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE .
