Removal [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read the Precaution thoroughly before servicing (Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2015 - ] ).

    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2015 - ] ).

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  3. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    1. Disable the AUTO TILT AWAY function by changing the customize parameter (Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [09/2015 - ] ).

      HINT: 

      Performing the above operation causes the AUTO TILT AWAY function to be disabled when the power switch is turned OFF.

      NOTE:

      Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the AUTO TILT AWAY function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.

    2. Turn the power switch ON (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column.
    3. Turn the power switch OFF and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2015 - ] ).

  5. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  6. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

  7. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

  8. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  9. REMOVE STEERING SENSOR 
    1. Detach the 6 claws and remove the steering sensor.
