Test Q: One-Touch Down Feature Does Not Operate Properly
- Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, to right of steering column. Using NGS tester, perform Driver's Door Module (DDM) self-test. If DTC B1400 is not retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B1400 is retrieved, go to step 6 . If any other DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test. See DRIVER'S DOOR MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove and test master window adjust switch. See MASTER WINDOW ADJUST SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If switch is okay, go to next step. If switch is defective, replace master window adjust switch.
- Measure resistance between ground and master window adjust switch harness connector C504 terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Black wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or more, go to step 5 .
- Disconnect DDM 26-pin harness connector C501d. DDM is located behind driver's door panel. Measure resistance between ground and master window adjust switch harness connector C504 terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Black wire). If resistance is 10 k/ohms or more, replace DDM. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow/Black wire between DDM and master window adjust switch.
- Disconnect DDM 26-pin harness connector C501d. DDM is located behind driver's door panel. Measure resistance in Yellow/Black wire between master window adjust switch harness connector C504 terminal No. 4 and DDM harness connector C501d terminal No. 21. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace DDM. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow/Black wire between DDM and master window adjust switch.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID OTD_SW. Disconnect master window adjust switch harness connector C504. If PID does not change when switch is disconnected, go to next step. If PID changes when switch is disconnected, replace master window adjust switch.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect DDM 26-pin harness connector C501d. DDM is located behind driver's door panel. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and master window adjust switch harness connector C504 terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Black wire). If voltage is 10 volts or more, repair short to voltage in Yellow/Black wire between DDM and master window adjust switch. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace DDM.
